1. My partner always wears these shoes.
Normally we buy them on trips to America, but as we do not
have any trips planned for this year, I decided to order
them online. Unfortunately we cannot buy these in the UK -
so I have to get them from America. However, they arrived in
very good time, and were exactly as we expected. We know the
size that he normally buys and they fit perfectly. My
partner is absolutely thrilled!
2. I bought this shoe as I am diabetic and my feet always
seem to "bother me" - read reviews on the Asics GT 2170 and
they seem to fit the bill - received today and have worn
them tonight - obviously I need to wear for several months
at least to judge properly, but I must say they seem to be
an excellent, well made shoe and very comfortable.
3. I ordered this pair to replace my fairly well worn 10
year old rockport Pro Walkers, which do not seem to be made
these days. This shoe is virtually identical in appearance
and fit to the old shoe. However it does feel a bit lighter
and the sole does not seem as firm. I suspect the neoprene
sole is not as dense as the old model. So I do not expect
the long term wear I got from the old shoes. As a side note,
about 6 months ago I ordered this shoe in "nubuck", not
black. I seems quite a bit warmer than the black as I wear
them in my warm climate.
4. I have worn nothing but these since 1980. I am 6'9" tall
and weigh 280 lbs and foot comfort is a primary factor for
me. I have worn these shoes literally around the world,
walking many miles every day throughout Europe as well as in
the USA. In Texas, where we live, a combination of extreme
summer heat and walking for several miles can destroy a shoe
and the feet. They have served extremely well!
5. My priorities are comfort and good looks- must have both.
This shoe delivers and is very light and flexible. One flaw
that I have found in the nubuck variety, is that the inside
of the shoe at the heel has a rough lining that tends to
grab your socks (expecially cotton type)as you take each
step and it gathers at your ankle. I have fixed this by
putting a piece of 2" wide clear tape inside the heel area-
this allows your sock to slide against it without pulling. I
love the fact that they made this product line for both men
and women so my hubby can also wear it. |
ASICS
GT-2170 are the updated and enhanced version of the ASICS
GT-2160. These are the high performance running shoes which

the ComforDry treatment. This lining is soft and it is
anti-microbial to keep the feet free from bacteria, odor and
moisture. The use of the I.G.S (Impact Guidance System)
allows you natural foot movement it also allows shocks
absorption. The midsole has been made from the Solyte which
is very lightweight material and it is lighter than the
standard EVA. This midsole is high shocks absorbing and it
allows excellent cushioning as well. The Solyte has double
density and it is used at the heel and forefoot to give you
magnificent comfort during running. The forefoot and
rarefoot also have the Gel cushioning systems which enhances
the comfort level by absorbing more shocks and delivering
smoother ride. The midsole of these shoes have the pocket
between them and Trusstic System. This control the
deformation of the midsole and also deliver effective
function of foot. The Guidance Line technology allows superb
stride efficiency. The outsole has been made from the AHAR
(ASICS High Abrasion Rubber) in the DuraSponge technology.
This outsole is long lasting, lightweight and shock
absorbing. The the outsole allows you smooth and relaxed
ride and it also provides grip on various types of terrains.
It weighs 14 ounces as per size 11.5. This style can be
found in these colors: Black/ Maroon/ White, Electric Apple/
Carbon/ Storm, Black/ Electric Blue/ Lightning and
